We've been making games for other people for over 20 years.
In 2009 we set up Playground Games to make them for ourselves.
Our vision was to build a development studio which could compete with the very best in the world, creating big budget console games for a global audience. Two years later, we’re well on our way to realising that vision.
Our 19 founder members spent 2010 building our studio infrastructure and talking to publishers. We moved into a vacant space in the centre of Leamington Spa and turned it into a bright, airy open-plan studio with lots of natural light and a pool table. And, most importantly, we started creating the design for what will be our first title.
In 2011, our project moved into pre-production and we were ready to begin expanding our team. And expand we have.
Today we occupy three floors, and nearly 12,000 square feet, of our building in the centre of Leamington Spa, with more than 100 staff working full time with us on-site.
We don’t intend to become the largest studio in the world, but we do intend to become the best. Our debut title, Forza Horizon, will be a huge step towards that goal.
Keep watching this space.
